Project: When Praetorian Global, Inc. acquired the brand ONI, popular and well known in the legacy market, I was tasked with updating the brand with new and compliant packaging that reflects the quality and craft of the product while positioning it in the premium product category.
Solution: Cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Product, and Legal teams I led the design of boxes, mylar bags, and devices to launch in two very different regulatory environments. Colorado allowed us to use our full color artwork and branding while Florida had very limited allowances for branding on the packaging. By fully understanding the regulations I was able to successfully create two distinct looks for one brand. To elevate the product presentation, heavy weight packaging was used along with quality finishes like soft touch for a suede-like matte finish and UV spot gloss accents.
Progression: A year after launch, we were requested to move away from the three piece telescoping box to a clamshell style box. I kept the outside clean and crisp with minimal branding, soft touch finish, spot UV gloss highlights, and a foil stamp logo and brand name. The art was moved inside for a surprise and delight moment for the customer upon opening the box.

Colorado: To create customer interest, I switched the vape line to white packaging while keeping the branding uniform with the concentrate line. The front always remained the same but I created a line of four unique back panels that featured unique art that encouraged a collect-them-all experience for the consumer.
Vape Device and Packaging: In addition to concentrates, we launched all-in-one vape devices in both Colorado and Florida. I was tasked with creating outer mylar pouch packaging and branding on the device itself.
Alternative Market: Unable to use the name ONI on packaging in Florida, along with strict regulations requiring sans serif type and only one print color, I redesigned the packaging to be compliant under the brand name Private Stock. The interior allowed art and multi colors where I chose to use the ONI art and mask, reflective of the original ONI packaging in Colorado.
Florida: A blister pack was chosen by our partner in Florida for the all-in-one vape packaging. Again, adhering to the strict packaging regulations, Private Stock was used as the brand with san serif type and a one color print.
